personal observations |
Hundreds of protesters in Zimbabwe gathered in a square in Harare to protest against President Mugabe. They claim that he has ruined the country. Police officers responded to the protests with violence by beating them with batons and releasing tear gas in their area. The country is opposed to the government which took away millions of jobs and opportunities and is standing against it to further advance the country.

The government is supposed to be in charge of ensuring the safety and well-being of its own citizens, but Zimbabwe is observing something completely different from what it should be experiencing. If the Zimbabweans oppose the government, government officials will obviously tell their own workers to fight against them instead of going the longer route and finding ways to make peace.

article ties back to culture
The pop culture of this area tells many citizens to oppose the government which is harming its own citizens by taking away jobs and ruining the lifestyles of its own people. As more and more people join the cause, others become even more motivated to make a difference. This shows the power of pop culture and how it can change an entire nation.
