The Day of the Dead is celebrated every year by people all across Mexico and by Mexican in the United States. They party and celebrate this holiday in honor of the dead and the spirits of their ancestors. This year, however, Mexico hosted its first ever Day of the Dead Parade. This has never been done before, but the reason for this sudden addition of a parade to this celebration is that there was one in the new 007 movie 'Spectre'. Though this has never been a part of Mexican culture, the country has been planning and preparing for this celebration for months.

It is interesting that just one movie can influence an entire country to alter its form of celebration for a holiday. It is also very surprising that an American movie rather than a Hispanic or Mexican one influenced this new parade. A simple mistake in one industry's part to correct a culturally incorrect depiction of a Mexican holiday changed that culture's view of the holiday completely.

article ties back to the culture
Pop culture definitely influenced this change in form of celebration for Mexico. 007 James Bond movies are very popular internationally, so it would be only natural for Mexico to change up the celebration to match the views of American media. The Day of the Dead is a holiday of Mexican folk culture, and it is now being heavily influenced by outside culture.
